Project presentation

From 2006, Aboard-Engineering is supporting MCE-5 company for developing its engine management system, linked with its innovating project of Variable Control Ratio engine. The VCRi project aims to prove the gain due to the VCR system for power, consumption and CO2 emission level for a supercharged downsized engine.

System Architecture

The engine is a 1.5L four cylinders twin VVT (variable valve Timing) and supercharged with twin turbo. The fuel system is either direct injection or port fuel injection. Two ECUs control the engine functions via the CAN bus communication.

Realization

Aboard Engineering has defined the system architecture, developed, integrated the control strategies and ensured the system tuning on engine dyno and on many demonstration vehicles.
